Acoustic design should always be made in tandem with construction design. Close co-operation between architects and acoustic experts should be initiated, if possible, at the stage of initial design for the territorial planning, or when starting work on projects to be submitted for the necessary construction permit at the latest. Only in this way it is possible to arrive at the best solutions for good listenings conditions and/or an appropriate isolation of all sources of noise within and outside the building. Subsequent measures to remedy acoustic shortcomings are, in most cases, very limited as to the results achieved, or very costly.
