Noise control in residental houses, cultural and industrial buildings, and their surroundings
Excess noise can be found nearly everywhere, yet. It is harmful in both the working environment and at home, as well as in other places. Intrusive noise can spoile the experience from the most impressive cultural event. Most frequently, we percieve noise at home from sources in or outside the building.
Recently, anti-noise barriers have been placed along transport routes with a view toward protecting the surrounding houses. As such construction constitutes an important investment, a qualified project of planing the correct height, lenght and sound absorption of the barrier, based on professional calculations, can save a sizeable sum of money.
Noise barrier to protect residental houses
Noise in the working environment constitutes a grave problem, as its levels frequently form a health hazard for the exposed workers. It is well known that long-term exopsition to noise in the working environment causes a progressive loss of hearing. Less known is that noise has a harmful effect on many other functions of the human body. Noise causes increased fatigue and exhaustion, loss of attention at work, reduced accuracy and reaction in movements and thus loss of productivity, more product defects and, above all, more occupational accidents.
In other cases, the level of noise can be reduced without great investment. It always pays to make a qualified assesment even of an apparently clear situation - noise protection is a field often obscured by many professionally unsubstantiated speculations and myths. The price paid for a qualified noise study is always a fraction of the total costs of the planned project or arrangement. While it is possible that costly interventions achive very little effect, given full co-operation with the client, one can however nearly always find an effective solution. Professional measurement, design and implementation are invariably the best investment.
