Acoustic and noise measurements

Akustika Praha has the capabilities to place at the client´s disposal results from all needed measurements in the area of noise, room and building acoustics. These are an essential component for decision-making as to the most suitable use of room, adaptations and project adjustment, territorial decision making, construction and approval of construction works, data for Health/Building Authorities, treatment of complaints, etc. Our disposal is state-of-the-art equipment and certified devices for accurate measurements of sound reverberation in rooms and soundproof properties if partitions and walls of buildings.

For measurement in the area of room acoustics, we use the Maximum Lenght Sequence System Analyzer (MLSSA), which enables us to obtain measurement results in both the time and frequency domains. Thus we can produce values of acoustic quantities necessary for a sufficiently detailed and accurate description of conditions for good listening, as recommended and used in new international standards for room acoustics. These standards have been gradually incorporated into the Czech Technical Standards (ČSN).

For the measurements of noise and apparent sound reduction index, we use the Brüel & Kjaer 2260 Investigator, which provides all necessary amplitude and frequency characteristics in real time.

For measurements of great importance (court rulings, official decisions) the Official Measurement Institute is recommended. The Office for Technical Standardization, Metrology and State Testing has certified Akustika Praha to perform official measurements of noise, reverberation and air soundproof capacity of buikldings.

Noise measurement caused by road traffic

During its operations, Akustika Praha has made hundreds of noise studies, which have all been approved by Health/Building Authorities without any negative comments.

Measurements of noise at work stations are necessary for the improvement of working conditions. Noise control in workrooms is always based on the knowledge of noise propagation paths.
